Public opinion polls lately have pointed out that there is an increasing number of people expressing the opinion that Barack Obama is a Muslim, not so much a Christian and confused about either choice. The pundits simply pick one of the choices and ridicule it based on their original positions.

My opinion is with the Muslim choosers and we will soon understand why their numbers are increasing. More and more people are beginning to do the basic research. As a self proclaimed ignoramus, (we don’t know) I spend some time on the internet trying to understand how the other side thinks. It helps  to know how to become a Muslim.

The easiest way to become a Muslim is to be born a Muslim. If your Father was a Muslim, you are automatically a Muslim. It is in your blood. If your Father becomes an atheist Marxist, you are still a Muslim, especially if your step father is a Muslim and enrolls you in a Wahabist school.

Another way to become a Muslim is to say, “Muhammad was the Messinger of Alla (God) and there is no other.” Muhammad was called the seal of the prophets, indicating there has not been one since and never will be one again. All the other requirements are secondary to this concept. There are other requirements which include daily prayers in a proscribed manner, fasting, payment of Zakat (tithting) and participation in the Haj (going to Mecca at least once in your lifetime).

Becoming a Muslim is like joining a labor union, easy to get in, hard to get out. The way you get out of being a Muslim to say, “Muhammad was not the last messenger of God”. There are two issues here. The belief that God had a messenger and that there has never been another messenger since that time. This leaves Mormon conversion to be problematic because of their belief in a modern day Prophet. Converting to any other religion is still problematic if it includes renouncing Muhammad.

Before we get into whether Obama is a Muslim, let’s look at what happens when you stop being a Muslim. If you are asked by a Muslim if you are a Muslim and you say “No”, then you are asked to convert or die. Depending on the circumstances of why you are asked you may have another option besides dying on the spot. If you are an ex Muslim, you are allowed three days to reconsider before you die or you may be asked to pay Jizya (head tax on infidels). This is the basic principle of piracy and is justified as a legitimate religious act by Mulsims in many countries. The US won its first war against Islam when it put a stop to piracy and secured the Tripoli Agreement. Britons and the rest of the Christian world continued to pay tribute to Muslims for many years. For the record, George Bush was asked to convert in one of the UN appearances by Amadinajad. No one took it seriously. Sharia law has two classes of crimes, one against Muslims and one against Infidels. This is something you may want to research.

In my research I found the most revealing statements of Obama to have been made during the apology tour in his speach to Egyptian elites. His words below and my comments in italics.

"Part of this conviction is rooted in my own experience. I am a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims. As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and the fall of dusk. As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith."

"……I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America's story. The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco. In signing the Treaty of Tripoli in 1796, our second President John Adams wrote, "The United States has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Muslims."

The Friendship treaty of Tripoli described the Jizya or tribute the US agreed to for releasing US sailors taken by Barbary Pirates. Tripoli reneged on the treaty and raised the price demanded for the captive slaves. Thomas Jefferson created the Marine Corps as the Presidents military force and built ships to fight the Muslim Pirates. Several Barbary wars were fought over a period of 20 years and tribute for redeeming US Christians exceeded over 20% of the US Federal revenue. In that period, they have not enriched us, but leached us and cost us dearly in defense resources. Link to history of mosqes.

 And since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States. They have fought in our wars, served in government, stood for civil rights, started businesses, taught at our Universities, excelled in our sports arenas, won Nobel Prizes, built our tallest building, and lit the Olympic Torch. And when the first Muslim-American was recently elected to Congress, he took the oath to defend our Constitution using the same Holy Koran that one of our Founding Fathers — Thomas Jefferson — kept in his personal library.

So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed.

The word “revealed” is quite deliberate, because it emphasizes that he accepts the premise that Muhammad was a Prophet.

That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn't. And I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.

That should help us understand what is very important to his presidency.

Obama has spent much of his life learning to speak to more than one group at a time, each group understanding a different message. In his Ramadan speech in the White House He told of the constitutional right for Muslims to build a Mosque anywhere they chose and the news went around the globe instantly and the world knew Obama was a true Muslim. The next morning, however he dropped the bomb that he would not take sides on the Cordoba Project issue. For those of you who have travelled Western Europe, you know that the Cordoba mosque was a Victory monument for the victory of the Muslums over Christianity in the area that would some day become Spain.

 His Cairo speech was also designed for two audiences. Obama claimed he was a Christian, but in the same breath claimed he was a birthright Muslim, so he could be both, if you wanted to cut him some slack. The whole world knows he is a Muslim, only the adoring Americans know he is a Christian. People who can discern the truth know that he is a Muslim with some unfinished business. One choice is to be a stealth Muslim for the Muslim Brotherhood, who were a large contingent of the Ramadan dinner or do the right thing and renounce Muhammad and risk being subject to Jizya or execution.

Adams and Jefferson asked to know by what right he was exacting these levies. The U.S. had never menaced or quarreled with any of the Muslim powers. As Jefferson later reported to the State Department and Congress, "The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners."

Jefferson's recommendation was that the Administration refuse any payment of tribute and prepare at once to outfit a naval squadron to visit the Mediterranean in strength. Ultimately, he proposed, America should arrange for an international concert of powers composed of all those nations whose shipping and citizens were preyed upon. "Justice and Honor favor this course," he wrote, adding that it would also save money in the long run.
