What is a Caucus?

Wiki explains it best because it is whatever you want it to be. In some states people get together in living rooms, churches and school buildings and rush to the corners of the room until one corner contains and obvious majority. The Republican party awards a first vote ballot privilege for the National Convention which is held the last week of August. In some states a single paper ballot is cast and the results may not be known for weeks as it was in Ohio with Romney and Santorum. It was many days until ballots could be certified. The election was so close, it was reversed three times. In Ada county the results will be known as soon as one candidate receives half of all the ballots in circulation. Everyone present will know the selected candidate before leaving the hall.

Let's all meet at the Republican Caucus!
